NCSP’s investors should be happy about coming of Transneft, Vladimir Putin says

As Transneft OJSC (a 100% state-owned company) acquired a stake in Novorossiysk Commercial Seaport (NCSP) the stevedoring business may get a positive stimulus. This opinion was voiced by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. "Investors should rejoice at the coming of Transneft, because the volume of transshipment will increase, and the NCSP capital cost will grow – and this is a fact," said the Prime Minister, speaking at a forum "Russia is calling".

"I do not see a problem for majority owners and minority shareholders of the NCSP, the latter will benefit from it for sure", Mr. Putin said, answering a question about the risks associated with the acquisition by Transneft of its share in the capital of the NCSP. The process is based on market principles, and "nobody is forced out", the company nationalization was not even mentioned» Finam quoted Mr. Putting as saying.

Earlier, the NCSP Group had announced the beginning of the acquisition of a 100% equity stake in Primorsky Commercial Port Llc. Read more about this in Relevant Topic, Sept. 16, 2010.
