ZNT Yard launches 3rd diving boat, built for Russian Maritime Rescue Service

ZNT Yard (Nizhny Novgorod MS Factory, JSC "ZNT"), launched yesterday, October 5th the third inshore DSV (diving support vessel) project A160 named Vodolaz Chebanenko (home port - Novorossiysk). The boat keel-laying of a series of four ships was held on April 9, 2010, the shipbuilding company press release said.

ZNT shipyard is building the A160 project four vessels under the contract with the Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport of the RF and the customer – Federal Directorate of State Customer of the programs for development of maritime transport implementing the subprogram ‘Marine transport’ of the Federal target program ‘Development of Transport System of Russia (2010 -2015 years)’. The vessels will be delivered to the Russian FSI GosMorSpasSluzhba (Russian Maritime Rescue Service).

The vessel was designed jointly by Nizhny Novgorod MS Plant JSC and Agat Design Bureau. The vessel's purpose is to provide diving underwater operations at depths up to 60m at rough seas up to 3pts, to participate in rescue and salvage operations, surveys of seabed, ship wrecks, underwater hulls (ships) and waterworks.

The Diver Chebanenko dimension: LOA - 27.4 m, length on DWL – 26,3 m, breadth overall - 5,6 m, draught - 1,5 m, deadweight – 9,67 tons, maximum speed – about 15 knots, endurance speed - 10 knots.

ZNT Yard (JSC Nizhny Novgorod M/S Factory) is located in Bor (Nizhny Novgorod Region). ZNT Yard specializes in construction of vessels for technical and auxiliary fleet, port equipment and ship machine-building product. The company’s facilities allow building 150m-long vessels with launching weight up to 1500 tons.
