Nine-month exports volume surged 56.1%, to 1,579,200 tons, including 393,800 tons of timber cargo, a 11.8-percent rise compared with Jan-Sept, 2009. The volume of handled petroleum products soared 78.4% to 816,000 tons, transshipment of coal rose 2.75 times as much, to 210, 300 tons, while volumes of pulp, paper and cardboard shrank by 4.8%, to 65,700 tons.
The volume of transshipment of home trade cargo grew by 31.7% to 1,605,200 tons, including 708,700 tons of cargo carried by river vessels (there were no river traffics last year). The volume of handled crude oil plunged 65% to 212,400 tons.
Transshipment of inbound goods grew by 38.5%, to 424,000 thanks to increased volume general cargo.
In September 2010, the total volume of cargo handled at the port surged 69.1% from Sept., 2009 to 469,300 tons.

The total capacity of Arkhangelsk port allows handling up to 4.5 million tons of cargo a year. Last year’s throughput of the port of Arkhangelsk shrank by 30.58%, to 3.271.600 tons.
