Throughput of Temryuk Port falls 13.2% in Jan-Sept., to 1.42m tons

Nine-month volume of cargo handled at the port of Temryuk was down 13.2% from the same period last year, to 1.422 million tons, PortNews report citing the Temryuk Port Authority.
The port statistics show the volume of exported goods dropped 26%, to 1.139 million tons, while imports surged by nearly a twofold to 206,820 tons. The number of handled vessels increased by 1%, to 514 ships.

Port of Temryuk is located on the Taman shore of the Azov Sea. The port stevedores handle primarily general cargo, round timber, lumber, metal, oversize cargo and food at the berths along the 1,200m-long quay wall.  In 2009 Temryuk Port’s throughput totaled 2,117 million tons.
