Mariupol port’s throughput up 25.5% in Jan-Sept, to 11.77m tons

Cargo turnover of the state-run Mariupol Commercial Sea Port (in Donetsk region, Ukraine) in January-September 2010 increased by 25.5% compared with the same period in 2009, to 11.774 million tons, Ukrrudprom reports.
 
Nine-month volumes of metal rose 25.4% to 6.347 million tons, transshipment of coal - by 28.9% (3.465m tons), clay exports surged by 92.9%, to 1.476 million tons, while  grain volume plunged in the reporting period by 55.2% to 271,700 tons.

Mariupol Commercial Sea Port is ranked among the four largest Ukraine ports. The stevedore company is located in north-western part of Taganrog Bay of the Azov Sea. Average harbor depth is 12 meters allowing the ships with 8m draft and LOA up to 240m to enter the harbor. The length of the mooring line is 3.9 km. Area of indoor warehouses is 11,800 sq m, of outdoor storage facilities – 240,900 sq m.

The MCSP company specializes in handling of ferrous and nonferrous metals, iron ore, coal, coke, clay, fertilizers of all kinds, sulfur, equipment (including oversized and heavy-weight cargo) fuel oil (board on board), grain in bulk, containers and cargo packages.
