Chinese shipyard starts building the 10th dry cargo ship for UCLH

Hyundai Corp’s Qingdao shipyard in China held a keel-laying ceremony for construction of the eighth dry bulk carrier on Sept, 13th. On September 24th the shipyard began cutting metal plates for the tenth ship. According to the report of Marine Engineering Bureau the project designer, the DCV36 project series of 10 dry cargo ships are being constructed for the customer - VBTH, the majority shareholder of the Holding is an international group Universal Cargo Logistics Holding, consolidating a number of Russian shipping, stevedoring and shipping companies.

The vessel was designed to a Russian Maritime Register of Shipping class (RS) KM Ice 3 AUT1. the ship LOA - 89.96 m, the estimated length - 84.89 m, breadth -14.5 m, freeboard - 7,5 m, draft - 6.40 m, deadweight - 5280 tons.

In September, Qingdao shipyard launch of the fourth vessel of the series. The DCV36 project ships are scheduled to be delivered to the customer by the end of 2011.

Marine Engineering Bureau is a non-governmental design and engineering firm recognized by Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, Russian River Register and Register of Shipping of Ukraine.
