Cargo turnover of MSFP for 9 months up 7.1%, to 210,000 tons

Throughput of Murmansk Sea Fishing Port in Jan-Sept, 2010 increased by 7.1% as compared with 2009, to 210,000 tons, the company’s press office reports citing deputy to General Director of MSFP Anton Artemyev. In the reporting period the stevedore handled 872 fishing boats. In September, the port transshipped 25,000 tons of fish, 4.1% up from last year’s September.

"According to preliminary applications in October, the port’s throughput could reach 23,000 tons of fish cargo. This is mainly herring, roll, the crab, etc." Anton Artemyev said.

Murmansk Sea Fishing Port OJSC is the stevedoring company operating at the port of Murmansk. It specializes in handling of cargo from fishing boats, mother ships and transport refrigerators. MSFP is a 100% state-owned enterprise through the Federal Agency for Federal Property Management and Russian Federal Property Fund, a state agency of the Federal Government. In 2009, MSFP’s throughput increased by 36% year-over-year, to 255,000 tons of fish.
