Nakhodka CSP buys new handling equipment

Nakhodka Commercial Sea Port OJSC has received new semitrailers for trucks used for the transportation of cargo at the port - mainly heavy slabs weighing more than 36 tons, the Evraz Group (the company’s shareholder). The modern multipurpose trailers manufactured in S.Korea are equipped with a rotary lights and brakes and springs, which ensure a greater degree of safety of goods during the move.

Evraz Group, running the Nakhodka CSP’s handling facilities upgrade program since 2005, plans to acquire two more Komatsu bucket loaders, Finnish tractors, Calmar forklifts of lifting capacity of 20 tons.

In the five recent years, the port has received over 60 units of new equipment - trucks, coal sorting machines, bucket loaders, tractors and semitrailers. The upgrade project will make loading and unloading operations much safer, more efficient and mobile, the company believes.
 
The Nakhodka CSP, has reportedly took part in two major federal projects - handling of large diameter pipes for the Eastern Siberia - Pacific Ocean oil pipeline and the Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok gas pipeline.
 
According to managing director of Nakhodka CSP Yuri Doroganov “this is the only port in the Russian Far East, which is able to provide handling of such heavy-weight cargoes."

Nakhodka Commercial Sea Port OJSC is the main operator at the port of Nakhodka. The Port is owned by an industrial group Evraz and is focused on exports by sea of products manufactured by the Group’s enterprises to Asia countries. Throughput of the stevedore company in 2009 amounted to 7,8 million tons.
