In the reporting period exports flows via the port dropped 10% to 2,123,200 tons, including 931,600 tons of timber cargo, and 27,100 tons of ferrous metals, 114,500 tons of non-ferrous metals and 1,039,700 tons of coal.
Nine-month volume of inbound goods rose 7.1% to 977,600 tons, largely alumina – 949,400 tons.
The stevedore company also transshipped 395,400 tons of coastal traffic cargo (+58.3%), including 116,500 tons of coal and 76,000 tons of containers.
In Jan-Sept, the Vanino - Kholmsk ferry service demonstrated positive trend in traffic volume between the mainland and the island of Sakhalin, transporting 1,144, 600 tons of cargo (+14.4%).
In September, the stevedore company handled 513,700 tons of cargo, 7.2% down from the same period last year).
Vanino Commercial Sea Port is the largest stevedore operating at the Port of Vanino of the Khabarovsk Krai (Territory). The port is a hub for cargoes transported to the north-eastern regions of Russia and exports flows passing to Japan, South Korea, China, Australia, USA and other countries of Asia Pacific Region. In 2009, the company’s throughput was down 9.4% year-over-year, to about 6 million tons.
