Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard (Nizhny Novgorod) launched today, Oct. 12, 2010, the river-sea going, 19900 project tanker of 7,000DWT. This is the first of a series of two vessels the shipyard is building for SVL company (SVL Active Trading Ltd.). The tanker was named SVL PRIDE, the MNP Group press service said (MNP, manages Krasnoye Sormovo).
Tankers of 19,900 new project, designed by the Volga-Caspian Design Bureau, will be carrying crude oil, gas condensate, petroleum products (including gasoline) with a vapor flash point below 60 degrees Celsius and a maximum density of transported product 0.99 t / cub. m. ensuring heating. The project’s tankers can carry three types of cargo at a time.
"The lead ship of project 19900 was launched at Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard on August 31 this year, which we are building for the State Maritime and River Transport Service of Turkmenistan. This is the second tanker in a new series for our new customer. The ship was designed to the Echo Project Class, which means its high ecological class. Requirements for equipment of such ships are designed in accordance with international rules concerning the marine environment safety. Besides, we’ve tailored the ship design to the SVL’s needs, for example, substantially increased the cargo complex capacity," MNP CEO Vadim Malov said.
The ship was designed to a class KM * Ice I [1] R2 AUT1-ICS OMBO LI VCS Oil Tanker (ESP) of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping. Ship dimensions: LOA - 141.4 m, breadth overall - 16.84 m, freeboard - 6.82 m, maximum speed - 10.5 knots, sea cruising range - 20 days, river cruising range - 10 days, number of tanks - 12, slop tanks – 2, crew - 12/14, 7100 DWT at 4,60-m draft in salt water, 4,700 DWT at 3,60-m draft in fresh water. Cargo capacity of 12 tanks and 2 slop tanks - 8,256 cub. m, main engine power rated - 2h1200 kW, operational speed - 10.5 knots.
