Kuehne + Nagel expands in Duisburg logport

Kuehne + Nagel has begun the construction of a new distribution centre in Duisburg's harbour area.
In a third expansion phase, the company enlarges its warehousing facilities in Duisburg logport by approximately 28,000 m2.

Operations are scheduled to start in the new facility in May 2011, for a large customer in the consumer healthcare industry.

According to Hans George Brinkmann, managing director of Kuehne + Nagel & regional manager for Central Europe, Duisburg has proven itself as a central European logistics hub.

"Including the new facility, we will have 150,000 m2 of warehousing space under management. Multinational customers benefit here from tailor-made contract logistics solutions and innovative distribution concepts," said Brinkmann.
The newly acquired 65,000 m2 property borders directly on Kuehne + Nagel's existing premises in the logport area, and offers an additional 14,000 m2 metres for future expansion.
