Sea Connect starts new container service between Rotterdam and Tallinn and Klaipeda

As from today, October 13, Sea Connect will start operating a new line connection between Rotterdam and Tallinn and Klaipeda. Tallinn is included weekly in the present three times a week service Rotterdam-St. Petersburg-Rotterdam. The Klaipeda call is fortnightly. Vessels deployed are between 700 and 900 TEU ice classed 1A containerships, equipped with 150-200 reefer plugs each. In Rotterdam, the vessels are handled at ECT Delta and Uniport terminals.
Currently Tschudi Lines runs a once-a-week connection between Estonia and Rotterdam, which is not sufficient to meet the local market's needs for transit operations, Sea Connect said. The transit time from Rotterdam to Tallinn will be four days, a day or two less than now, whereas the transit time to St. Petersburg will be one day. Sea Connect is a company based in Lithuania and currently operates five container ships. The agent for Sea Connect in Estonia is SCS Estonia OU. The Rotterdam agent is Boeckmans.
