The new imported autos are manufactured by well-known South Korean and Japanese car makers, largely Suzuki (970 Suzuki cars of total 1,000 autos handled this September), Dmitry Domrachev said. The imported cars transshipped at CPV are intended not only for the Russia’s Far East market, but also for the dealers’ network of the European part of Russia and CIS countries.
The level of service the car terminal meets the requirements of major car makers and general freight forwarders of Japan and S. Korea. The port may see an increasing volume of car imports in a long-term perspective, Mr. Domrachev said.
The autos terminal of CPV (operator Vladivostok automobile terminal LLC) is the largest in the Far East of Russia specialized facility for handling inbound vehicles. Two berths of overall length of 291 meters allow handling ocean-going ferries and specialized Ro-Ro ships, carrying up to two thousand cars. Two indoor multi-level parking lots of the terminal can simultaneously accommodate 1,700 autos. In general, the Vladivostok terminal capacity provides for simultaneous storage of more than 4,000 vehicles. There are 4 branch lines with total length of 700 meters. The local loading bay allows loading equipment and cars onto 3 trains at a time.
The autos terminal provides a broad range of services, including offloading of equipment from ships, warehousing, processing customs clearance documents, loading to the trains and dispatch the cargo in all directions, both within Russia and abroad. The Vladivostok autos terminal’s monthly capacity is 10,000 units of vehicles.
