In Jan-Sept, the volume of handled bulk cargo grew by a percent - to 12 million 16,4 thousand tons, nonferrous metals - fell by 6.4% to 1 million 289.7 thousand tons, volume of handled coal and coke also dropped, by 12%, to 1 million 738.4 thousand tons, while nine-month container traffic surged 47 percent, to 1,380,520 TEUs, the port statistics said.
In September 2010, the port throughput rose to 5,603,800 tons, up 19.5% from last year’s September.
