The upgraded version of the service, which CMA CGM previously operated in cooperation with Mediterranean Shipping Co., will deploy five vessels with capacities of 3,000 20-foot equivalent units apiece, of which the French carrier will provide three and the Chilean carrier two.
The service will provide new calls at the ports of Rotterdam and Miami and two weekly departures from Mexico to meet the growing demand for refrigerated goods in Europe.
CMA CGM said the new service will provide the shortest transit times on the market both eastbound and westbound between North Europe and Mexico. The transit time between Altamira in Mexico and Antwerp will take 16 days, compared to 21 previously. The trip between North Europe and U.S. South Atlantic will take nine days, both for the voyage from Bremerhaven to Charleston and from Miami to Le Havre.
The rotation of the New Victory Bridge service will be: Le Havre, Antwerp, Rotterdam, Bremerhaven, Charleston, Miami, Vera Cruz, Altamira, Houston, Miami and back to Le Havre.
The ports of Savannah and Felixstowe, which were included in the previous rotation, will now be served through CMA CGM’s Round The World and Liberty Bridge services.
