President of Russia's top oil producer Rosneft Eduard Khudainatov has met with BP chief Robert Dudley and Total President Christophe de Margerie to discuss possible cooperation, including in shelf projects, Rosneft said on Tuesday.
"The participants of the meetings...discussed current cooperation and possible future cooperation under the framework Russian company's projects. Negotiations with BP included discussion of Rosneft's entrance in the capital of Ruhr Oel GmbH joint venture in Germany as well as possible cooperation under the framework of shelf projects," the company said in a statement after the Monday meeting, in which Deputy Prime Minister and Rosneft Chairman Igor Sechin also participated.
Last week, Rosneft agreed with Petroleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA) to acquire its 50% stake in Ruhr Oel GmbH, a 50/50 downstream joint venture between BP and PDVSA. The company holds stakes in four German refining and petrochemical complexes.
