During the period export shipments reached 2.3 million tons, a year-over-year 6.5-percent drop. This was due to a general decline in outbound goods on the Russian market of transport services.
Nine-month volume of imports carried by the company grew by 19.6% compared with Jan-Sept. 2009, to 466,000 tons. Foreign-to-foreign trades totaled 1.8 million tons, a 18.4-percent gain. Home trade volumes transported by NWSC rose 1.5 times as much, to 121,000 tons.
In the reporting period the shipping company boosted by twofold volumes of timber cargo, up to 840,000 tons, scrap metal - to 487,000 tons (+24.5%). Shipment of ferrous metals soared 60%, to 940,000 tons, transportation of coal jumped to 141,000 tons (an increase of 2.2 times).
