St. Petersburg-Hull Port weekly service starts on Oct. 28

Weekly service linking St. Petersburg with the English port of Hull is launched from October 28, 2010, the Sea Port of St. Petersburg Group’s press office reported on Friday. This information was also confirmed by the President and CEO of Finnlines Uwe Bakosch during his visit to St. Petersburg. Three Birka-class  ferries are reported to be operating on the services. In St. Petersburg, the service ships will be handled at the berths of First Stevedoring Company (part of the Sea Port of St. Petersburg Group).

It is also reported that the company Finnlines at the end of this August extended the line Bilbao-Antwerp-Helsinki to St. Petersburg, which has generated a monthly increase of Ro-Ro cargoes at the terminal of First Stevedoring Company by 8,000 tons.

The Universal Cargo Logistics Holding’s group of companies Sea Port St. Petersburg incorporates First Stevedoring Company, Second Stevedoring Company, Third Stevedoring Company, Fourth Stevedoring Company operating at the Big Port of St. Petersburg, and a Universal Transshipment Terminal at the port of Ust-Luga, and a number of service businesses.

The Group is implementing a project for port infrastructure development, construction of a high-tech terminal for transshipment of containerized cargo, the development of launched terminals for handling imported cars and Ro-Ro cargo at the Big Port of St. Petersburg, and the Ust-Luga terminal.
