During the period the stevedore handled 612,000 tons of bulk cargo, 247,000 tons of liquid cargo and 95,000 tons of general cargoes.
The volume of coal transshipment remained at the last year’s level – 562,000 tons, while container throughput rose 39%, to 9,000 TEUs.
The company posted a 66-percent surge in ore handling, a 56-percent jump in transshipment of building materials and a 51-percent gain in round timber volume. Handled volume of bran and fuel oil rose by 27% and 8%, respectively.
In Jan-Sept, the volume of handled metals sank 87% compared with the previous year.
The stevedore company handled 14,191 rail cars and 281 vessels.
Joint stock company Taganrog Commercial Seaport, part of Universal Cargo Logistics Holding, is the major operator at the Port of Taganrog, providing handling services at berths 1-5, 7 and 8. In 2009, the TCSP’s throughput amounted to 1,208,800 tons.
