Kozmino builds up its tank farm capacity

Spetsmornefteport Kozmino LLC (Primorsky Territory), a special oil port, has completed comprehensive testing of three new reservoirs RVSPK-50000 at the port’s oil depot. The company signed an acceptance protocol on Tuesday (Oct. 26), the press service of the company said.
The tanks are intended for storage of additional quantities of crude oil according to the project of expansion of the "Eastern Siberia - Pacific Ocean (ESPO) pipeline system up to 30 million tons.

"Comprehensive testing of new tanks, which increase the volume of the tank farm of Spetsmornefteport Kozmino to 500,000 cub m has been successfully completed. All three tanks with floating roofs were alternately filled with crude oil, which after the necessary adjustment work was loaded to a tanker. At the moment we’re working on the certificate of commissioning of the tanks,"-Spetsmornefteport Kozmino statement said.

Additional capacity for storage of crude oil will allow providing tanker cargoes for the two ships simultaneously. In addition to building new reservoirs of capacity of 50ths tons, the company carries out a large-scale program for expansion of its facilities

By the end of 2011 Kozmino company expects to have the port’s facilities completed to boost the total throughput capacity of "ESPO" and Spetsmornefteport Kozmino to 30 million tons a year.

Spetsmornefteport Kozmino LLC is a subsidiary of JSC "Transneft". The Marine Terminal at the Bay of Kozmino started operating in late 2009. Its capacity is 15 million tons of oil a year, expandable to 30 million tons of oil annually. In January-September of the year the terminal transshipped 11,142,000 tons of exported crud oil.
