The diving boats of A160 project were ordered at the shipyard by the state customer - the Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport of RF and the customer - FSI "Directorate of State Customer of programs for development of maritime transport". The ships construction is funded through the subprogram "Marine transport" of the federal target program "Development of Transport System of Russia (2010-2015)”.
Two lead ships Diver Litvin and Diver Pechkurov had been delivered to the customer ahead of schedule and sent to the home port of St. Petersburg and Murmansk. The third ship Diver Chebanenko has successfully passed sea trials and on November 3, will be sent to home port of Novorossiysk. Under the terms of the contract the fourth inshore diving boat Diver Denisov will be delivered by the end of the navigation period of 2010.
The boat is designed to provide diving underwater engineering work at depths to 60 meters at 4pts rough seas, to participate in rescue and salvage operations, survey of sea-bottom, shipwrecks, underbody of ships and waterworks.
Overall, according to the development of maritime transport program FGI Gosmorspassluzhba of Russia will have 10 such vessels built to be operated in all basin department of the country.
