The Navy has awarded Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding-Newport News a $67 million contract modification for continued planning and preparations for the defueling and inactivation of the Enterprise and its reactor plants.
The effort will include all advanced planning, ship--checks, design, documentation, engineering, procurement, fabrication and preliminary shipyard or support facility work.
Work will be performed in Newport News and is expected to be complete by Sept. 30.
