The Federal Agency for Arrangement the Russian State Border (Rosgranitsa) in its order on Sept. 8, 2010 (N 402-OD) launched the permanent border crossing checkpoint at the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg ("Marine Façade"). The checkpoint started operating in connection with the commissioning of the marine station N3 of the 2 Phase starting complex N2 currently under construction, the St. Petersburg branch of Rosmorport press service said. The order comes into effect 10 days after its official publication.
The construction of the passenger port of St. Petersburg Marine Façade started in 2006. Two years later the project’s first phase was launched. As of September 2010, the port had served for the period about 600,000 tourists.
