TNWA to make Chinese New Year transpac service cutbacks
The New World Alliance (TNWA) , comprising APL, Mitsui OSK Lines and Hyundai Merchant Marine is set to drop some transpacific services during a six- week period over Chinese New Year. Alliance carriers said they would reduce capacity during the period by selectively omitting sailings on the SAX, PSW, PCX and PCE services. The period could last longer than six weeks if necessary. "We'll review demand and capacity again well in advance of the peak shipping season," said APL President Eng Aik Meng. "As conditions warrant, we'll re-introduce capacity."
