Oil exports via Primorsk port down 6% to 11,2m tons

In January-February, shipment of exported crude oil and petroleum products through the terminal at Port of Primorsk (Leningrad region) shrank by 6% compared with the same period last year, to 11,204,400 tons, PortNews reported citing the Port Authority statistics. The two-month volume includes 10,309,300 tons of crude oil (-6%) and 895,000 tons of petroleum products (-1%).

In February, the exports volume was down 3% to 5,125,800 tons: crude oil – 4,703,800 tons (-2%), petroleum products – 422,000 tons (-12%).

Primorsky Trade Port (PTP) is Russia’s premier port in the country’s North-West region for exports of oil and petroleum products. Primorsk Oil Terminal is the terminus of the Baltic Pipeline System (BPS) and main pipelines Kstovo-Yaroslavl-Kirishi-Primorsk (North Project) and JSC Transnefteproduct. In 2010, Primorsk Oil Terminal handled 77,540,300 million tons of exported crude oil, a 2-percent decline year-over-year.
