Dry bulk shipowner U-Ming Transport Corp saw its third-quarter net profit halved year-on-year while revenue remained steady, Seatrade Asia online reports. U-Ming recorded third-quarter net profit of NT$669m ($22.3m), down 52.2% compared to NT$1.4bn in the same period of last year.
Revenue remained unchanged at NT$418.7m, the Taipei-listed shipping firm anounced.
U-Ming president C.K. Ong had earlier expressed intentions to order up to eight bulk carriers before the end of this year.
