KSCP throughput rises 16.8 percent in Jan-Oct

Ten-month volume of exports handled by JSC Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port (KSCP) rose by 16.8 percent compared with January-October 2010, to 3.05 million tons, the Port Authority said.


Shipments of coal and coke decreased by 14.3 percent on last year’s figures, to 148,900 tons, handling of mineral fertilizers dropped by 2.7 percent to 57,900 tons. The volume of ferrous metals climbed 1.8 percent to 1.16 million tons, of scrap metal - by 28.3 percent, to 138,600 tons.


 
Oil product exports rose by 31.6 percent to 442,900 tons. The port's container traffic surged by 2.8 times from a year earlier, to 77,128 TEUs.


Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port is a stevedore company operating at the Port of Kaliningrad. The port is a gateway for intermodal traffic and major export / import flows passing through the region. In 2010, cargo throughput of KSCP rose by 1.4 times year-over-year to 3,640,700 tons.
