Russia ranks last among other Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) countries on development of transport and logistics chains, Prime-TASS reports citing the report of Marshall School of Business (University of Southern California).
The survey results was presented at the meeting of the Working Group of the Business Advisory Council of APEC. "The study focused on identifying and quantifying the most significant bottlenecks and barriers that lead to time delays, increasing transportation costs and risks of extension of supply chains and uncertainty," the report says.
The study included polling of 181 top executives of different companies, as well as experts and officials from the APEC countries.
According to the report Singapore ranks top in supply chain efficiency among the APEC economies, while the efficiency of the Russian logistics is estimated at 63.8% of Singapore's logistics performance.
For example, the preparation of shipping documents for export / import of goods in Russia takes no less than 25 days and costs the companies on average $ 200 (Singapore - 1 day, $105). Passing of Russian customs control takes 3-4 days and costs more than in any country of APEC - $ 500 (Singapore - 1 day, $ 31), and cargo clearance at the port - 3 days and $ 250 (in Singapore – a day and $ 180).
Previously Arkadiy Dvorkovich, advisor to Russian president had said the energy, transport and food security will become the priority issues when Russia will pick up the baton from the US and chair the APEC next year.
