Port of Long Beach box traffic down 1.7 percent in Jan-Oct

Container imports / exports of the U.S. port of Long Beach in January-October decreased by 1.7 percent year-on-year, to 5.091,266 TEUs, the LB Port Authority statistics said.


In October, containers trade including inbound, outbound and empty ones slumped 20.5 percent to 487,665 TEUs versus 613,621 TEUs a year earlier.


Port of Long Beach is one of the largest seaports of the United States. Annual volume of trade flows passing via the port make Long Beach the second-busiest seaport in the U.S. Last year’s container volume rose year-over-year 23.6% to 6,26m TEUs.The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach form together the U.S. port complex, one of the world’s biggest hub.
