  USCG rescues fishermen in Shelikof Strait

  

  A Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Air Station Kodiak rescued the five-man crew of the 58-foot fishing vessel Scandia after their vessel began taking on water in Shelikof Strait 71-miles west of Kodiak June 17, 2012.
  
  The crew was delivered safely to Kodiak and Coast Guard personnel are assessing the situation following the subsequent sinking and loss of the vessel.
  
  The 58-foot vessel began taking on water in Shelikof Strait 71 miles west of Kodiak and sank.
