Container throughput at the terminal of Estonian Transiidikesuse AS in January-August totaled 153,603 TEUs, representing a 22-percent growth over the same period of last year, the company said.
In August, handling of containerized exports / imports at the facility amounted to 18,037 TEUs.
The general and refrigerated cargoes terminal of Transiidikeskuse in January-July handled 429,825 tons, up 5% from a year earlier. The seven-month container volume handled by Transiidikeskuse AS operators climbed 3% to 1.82 million tons.
On June 1st, subsidiaries of Transiidikeskuse AS, AS Refetra, AS Muuga CT and OÜ Varumees merged with the parent company. Now the concern continues to operate under the name Transiidikeskuse AS.
Transiidikeskuse AS is the single operator of Estonia’s container, general cargo and reefer terminals based in Muuga.
In 2011, Transiidikeskuse AS’ total cargo throughput was 2.65 million tons. Container traffic soared 30% year-over-year.
