Grand Alliance lines decamp to Da Chan Bay
Modern Terminals-managed Da Chan Bay Terminal One in western Shenzhen recently welcomed the maiden call of the Philippines Feeder 2 (PHF2), one of Orient Oversea's Container Lines' (OOCL) Intra-Asia services, with the docking of the 2,700-teu Larentia, Seatrade Asia online reports.
OOCL's PHF2, linking Hong Kong and the key manufacturing hubs in the Pearl River Delta with Manila North and South ports, now calls weekly at Da Chan Bay, moving from Shekou Container Terminal, also in Shenzhen.
Meanwhile in related moves, fellow Grand Alliance member lines Hapag-Lloyd and NYK Line, are also switching two of their transpacific services to call at Da Chan Bay from Shekou in September. The services are the Super Shuttle Express (SSX), which is also jointly operated with OOCL, and the Pacific North West Express (PNX) service, which the three Grand Alliance members operate together with Israeli flag carrier Zim.
Modern Terminals has a majority stake in and operates Da Chan Bay Terminal One, as well as Taicang International Gateway in the Yangtze River Delta.
