APL and Con-way launch service from Jakarta to North America

Global trade partners APL Logistics and Con-way Freight have announced a new service transporting day definite shipments from Jakarta, Indonesia to North America. The partners have added Jakarta to the list of origin ports on its 'OceanGuarenteed' service, Daily Shipping Times reported.

The 'OceanGuarenteed' service provides a less-than-container load service from Asia to Canada, Mexico and the US on a pre-determined date or a refund if the date slips. The addition of Jakarta brings the number of origin ports for the partners' guaranteed services to 14.  The service was recently expanded to the south China port of Xiamen, and Fuzhou which is linked to the OceanGuaranteed network by truck.

APL Logistics and Con-way Freight launched OceanGuaranteed in 2006.
