Djibouti, European maritime chief discuss anti-piracy capacity building
Djiboutian Foreign Minister Mahmoud Ali Youssouf and Admiral Jacques Launay, chief of European Union's maritime capacity building initiative EUCAP Nestor, met to discuss the fight against piracy in the Horn of Africa.
European Union ambassador to Djibouti Nicolas Delcroix and Djiboutian Foreign Ministry Secretary General Mohamed Ali Hassan also attended the meeting, Djibouti's La Nation reported.
The agenda included discussion of Djibouti's logistical support to the EU Naval Force's Operation Atalanta to curb piracy in the Horn of Africa, and the operations of EUCAP Nestor, a civilian mission to increase the capacity of African countries to fight and prevent piracy, which intends to build its headquarters in Djibouti.
