Bunker suppliers Bakri Trading, Ocean Energy to not renew Singapore licenses
Bunker fuel suppliers Bakri Trading Co (Asia) and Ocean Energy Bunkering will not be renewing their licenses to sell bunker fuel with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, a list on the MPA website showed Tuesday, Platts reports.
The latest exits bring the total number of licensed suppliers in Singapore to 75, from 77.
In June this year, the MPA cancelled Winbuild Petrofin's licence after it had been found "contravening the terms and conditions of the bunkering licences," said MPA at the time.
Also in June, suppliers Prestige Marine Services and Gas Trade gave up their licenses, Platts reported previously.
All bunker suppliers and bunker craft operators operating in the Port of Singapore are required to be licensed by the MPA.
Bakri's exit from the delivered bunker business in Singapore comes some months after its general manager, Cem Saral, left the Singapore office in early April, Platts reported previously.
Bakri Trading and Ocean Energy did not say why the two companies were not renewing their bunker licenses.
