Vladivostok Terminal box traffic soars 40 percent
Container traffic at Vladivostok Container Terminal (VCT) in January-August 2012 surged by 40% compared to the same period of 2011, when the stevedore operated only on Berth No 16, or rose by 7.8% tanking into account box throughput at Berths No 14-15, to 267,589 TEUs, the terminal operator said.
In August, handling of containerized imports / exports at the facility totaled 35,087 TEUs. Monthly volume of exported containers totaled 11,475 TEUs, of imports – 14,879 TEUs, of coastal traffic – 8,733 TEUs. During the period, there were 36 calls to the VCT, with an average of 972 TEUs per vessel.
