AET has bagged a contract with Statoil to operate two DP2, 120,000 dwt, shuttle tankers, Seatrade Asia online reports. The tanker arm of MISC will operate the two vessels through a joint venture, AET Sea Shuttle, with ship manager OSM Group. The two tankers are to be built at a South Korean yard.

The vessels will be equipped for harsh environment operation in the North/Barents Sea and on long term contracts to Statoil with options for up to 20 years. There is also an option for the vessels to equipped LNG powered dual fuel engines.
