Regional customs ignores new check regulations, Vladivostok Harbormaster says
The customs authorities at the port of Vladivostok (Primorsky Territory) do not fulfill the order of Russian Ministry of Transportation on the new eased procedure of customs control, which means inspection of cargo and vessels after off-loading at ports, the Vladivostok harbormaster told PortNews.
Alexander Kuvshinov, who participated in a meeting of the Council of Rosmorrechflot in Vladivostok, said: "Everything that depends on the Port Authority for this order enforcement, we do everything. Now it’s the turn of customs." Meanwhile, there are no problems with border control services at the port of Vladivostok, he said.
The new customs control procedure, the inspection of ship and cargo after off-loading, has been effective in the Russian ports since early 2011, after the Russian Ministry of Transportation approved the Model Scheme of crossing the Russian Federation’s border in the sea and river (lake) checkpoints of persons, vehicles, cargoes, goods and animals.
