Pella Shipyard launches second ASD tug of Project RAscal 2000
Pella Shipyard launched the second Azimuth Stern Drive Tug (ASD) of Project RAscal 2000, I-Mash reported. The boat’s completion and delivery is scheduled for early 2013.
Rascal 2000 project ASD tug features relatively small dimensions, which, combined with excellent maneuverability, stability enables her to effectively work at the ports and offshore anchorage, in shallow water locations.

Ship’s main characteristics: LOA - 20.4 m, beam molded - 8.5 m, draft - about 3.3 m, operational speed - 11.8 knots, engines rated powered - 2 * (447-634) kW, twin Rolls-Roys CPPs, rudders and bow thrusters, bollard pool - 15-20 tons.
The series tugboat is designed for towing and canting operations at the port, at offshore locations and coastal areas, for refloating stricken vessels, for fire fighting on ships and shore facilities, participate in OSR operations, buoy-laying, etc.

The shipbuilding firm specializes in building harbor tugs with rated power of 1,000-5,000hp, pusher tugs, escort tugs, pilot boats and rescue boats for Russian and foreign customers.
