The capacity of the seaport cluster on China's southeast coast is expected to rise to by 9.55 million TEU in the state's 2006 - 2010 Five-Year Plan, said a Fujian Development and Reform Commission official, quoted by Xinhua News Agency.The Fujian provincial government plans to raise each of the ports of Xiamen and Fuzhou's capacity to the 100-million ton level together with all ports in the province to more than 300 million tons by 2010. In 2005, Fujian ports had a capacity of 5.13 million TEU with other cargo capacity totalling 120 million tons. The southeast cluster includes Xiamen and Fuzhou ports and the smaller harbours of Quanzhou, Putian and Zhangzhou.
The other four port clusters are Bohai Rim, Yangtze Delta, Pearl Delta and the southwest group.
