Operation of ports controlled by Vladimir Lisin to be managed by Valeri Fedorov

Valeri Federov has left the post of Lipetsk Vice-Mayor of his own will, Ivan Koshelev, deputy head of the city said yesterday. According to him, Valeri Fedorov plans to start work in Rumelko company managing the assets of Vladimir Lisin, owner of Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK). According to the source, Fedorov will “manage operation of St. Petersburg and Tuapse seaports. Both of them are controlled by Mr. Lisin (transport assets are managed by the Dutch company Universal Cargo Logistics Holding B.V.)”. In Lipetsk Mayor’s Office Valeri Fedorov was in charge of economical and social spheres as well as finance, public utilities and ecology.

As PortNews IAA reported earlier, throughput of stevedoring companies of Sea Port of Saint Petersburg OJSC totaled 11 million tonnes in 2008 (a 8-pct decrease as compared with the previous year). In particular, First Stevedoring Company handled 5.1 million tonnes (-5%, year-on-year); Second Stevedoring Company – 1.7 million tonnes (-16%); Forth Stevedoring Company – 4.1 million tonnes (-2%). Automobile terminal of Third Stevedoring Company handled over 42,000 cars for almost 8 months of 2008. General cargo and dry bulk accounted for the majority of the Group’s throughput (6.5 million tonnes and 4.5 million tonnes respectively). In 2008, the share of Sea Port of Saint Petersburg in total throughput of Big Port St. Petersburg  exceeded 18 %. Sea Port of Saint Petersburg is a group managing First Stevedoring Company CJSC, Second Stevedoring Company CJSC, Forth Stevedoring Company CJSC and a number of service companies.

In 2008, Commercial Seaport of Tuapse OJSC handled 19.4 million tonnes of cargo (-1%, year-on-year) including 14.5 million tonnes of oil cargo (+1%, year-on-year) and 4.9 million tonnes of general cargo (-11%). As for dry cargo, the port handled 3.1 million tonnes of coal (+10%) and 0.8 million tonnes ferrous metal (-40%). Tuapse Commercial Seaport OJSC is the main operator in the port of Tuapse, one of Russia’s largest ports. Major shareholder of Tuapse Commercial Seaport (69.41%) is Universal Cargo Logistics Holding B.V. (UCLH).
