TransContainer summed up the results of 2008

In 2008 TransContainer transported 1.5mln TEU on the fitting platforms which cover 60% of the total containers transit in Russia, the company informed. In 2008 the company increased the park by 3,000 wagons and 9,000 containers. Still in 2008 the demand for container transit rallied down due to the cutdown in the demand. The loading declined by 30%. TransContainer was founded on the basis of OAO RZD as the center for the cargo transportation in containers. It was launched in 2006. It has 23,000 flat-wagons; 177,000 containers and 47 terminals. The 9-month net profit (RAS) rose 2.35 fold to RUR 2.366 billion against RUR 1.009 billion prior year, AK&M reports according to RZD-Partner.
