Marintec China 2013, the leading and most prominent maritime event in Asia, is opened in Shanghai today, Marintec said in its press release. In the forthcoming four - day show , industry professionals from renowned shipping companies, authorities and government bo die s will be gather ing in Shanghai to participate in this maritime significant event.
As one of the most important trading platform in the maritime industry, more than 1,700 exhibiting companies from 34 countries / regions will be gathering at the Marint ec China 2013 to showcase their latest products and technologies for the international maritime industry profe ssional visitors. With a significant increase in the floor area from 2011 , this year’s Marintec China will cover more than 70,000 square metres.
Taking up six exhibition halls, (Hall N1, N2, N3, W3, W4, W5 ) of the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) , this year is going to be a nother record breaking year in maritime history. 16 national / regional pavilions from Austria, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong SAR, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, Taiwan region, the United States and the United Kingdom are also staging in Marintec China which proved the internationality of the show with a wide variety of maritime products and technologies.
The Senior Maritime Forum will be held from 2 - 5 December at the Kerry Hotel, Pudong, Shanghai. The overall theme this year is "Green Technology, Transformation, Breakthrough" with sessions dedicated to "Shipbuil ding", "Shipping and Ports", "China Summit on International Ocean Engineering Equipment" and "Marine Finance", as well as keynote speeches in tomorrow’s session.
Exhibitors take Marintec China as an important platform to introduce their products and to promote and consolidate their brands in this event. Exhibitors like Siemens China has newly launched a new generation of diesel - electric propulsion system which reduce the cost of operation and ; Also ABB has adopted a new industrial drive which enables more efficient use of the monitoring system.
