NCSP Group 11M cargo volumes drop 10.8% to 129.5m tonnes

Total cargo throughput across the NCSP Group's stevedoring divisions in January-November 2013 declined 10.8% from the same 11-month period a year ago (146.8m tonnes), to 129.5 million tonnes, the Group said in a press release.

In the reporting period, the liquid cargo volume reached 107,781,000 tonnes, including 84,887,000 tonnes of crude oil, 22,173,000 tonnes of oil products, 550,000 tonnes of UAN and 170,000 tonnes of vegetable oil. Oil products volumes at Primorsk Trade Port and at the Novorossiysk Fuel Oil Terminal have grown by 47% and 109% year-on-year, respectively.
Eleven-month bulk cargo volume totalled 7,643,000 tonnes. This included 3,397,000 tonnes of grain; 1,775,000 tonnes of iron ore; 767,000 tonnes of coal; 751,000 tonnes of mineral fertilizers; 748,000 tonnes of sugar, and 199,000 tonnes of cement.

Shipments of general cargo throught the Group's terminals totalled 9,667,000 tonnes. Ferrous metals and non-ferrous metals volumes were 7,835,000 tonnes and 949,000 tonnes, respectively. The year-on-year decline in ferrous metals volumes shrank back to 1.2% for 11M 2013, compared to 2.3% in 10M 2013.
NCSP Group’s container throughput in January-November 2013 totalled 555,000 TEU, compared to 567,000 TEU a year earlier.

Growth rates of iron ore transshipment reached 11.4% in annual terms , compared to 8.9 % in the 10 months . Growth in imports of raw sugar - 24.4% more than the same period last year - has slowed due to revision of forecasts for the supply of Russian raw materials in a better way .
