New regulations approved for Kandalaksha seaport

New obligatory regulations for Kandalaksha seaport have been approved by the Order of RF Transport Ministry No 345 as of 07.11.2013. According to established procedure the Regulations will come into effect within 10 days from their official publication, FSUE Rosmorport announced.
 
The new Regulations set forth the rules for navigation within the Kandalaksha seaport water area including ice navigation; docking rules with indication of moorage places for vessels; environmental safety rules, quarantine rules; rules for application of special communications equipment within water area of Kandalaksha seaport, etc.

The new regulations completely meet unified requirements to the structure and content of obligatory regulations in seaports of the Russian Federation approved by RF Transport Ministry.

In particular, the new document specifies new dimensional limitations for vessels allowed to call at Kandalaksha seaport; places for boarding/debarkation of pilots to/from vessels going into/out of Kandalaksha seaport; limits for districts of compulsory pilotage in the seaport.
 
Kandalaksha branch of Murmansk pilotage service carried out 180 piloting operations in 2013.
