Throughput of Chinese ports up 4.5% to 8.31 bln t in Jan-Sep’14

In January-September 2014, the ports of China increased their throughput by 4.5%, year-on-year, to 8.31 bln t, the Ministry of Transport of the Government of the People's Republic of China. In the accounting period seaports of China handled 5.77 bln t (+5.7%, year-on-year), river ports - 2.55 bln t (+2%).

Container throughput climbed by 5.7% to 148.97 mln TEUs including 134.07 mln TEUs in seaports (+6.6%) and 14.89 mln TEUs in river ports (-2.9%).
