Last week the delegation of the Ukrainian Seaports Authority (USPA) took part in starting conference of the common cross-border project «Creation of competency-based training in a supportive environment» (TRAINING4PORT), the USPA press release said.
The project is implemented within the priority areas № 01A «Mobility — Waterways» and № 10 «Improving institutional capacity and cooperation» by the fund of the project «START» under the EU initiative «Danube Strategy». The fund Coordinator — Municipality of Vienna (Austria) and the Centre of Excellence in Finance (Slovenia). The event was held in Galati (Romania).
During the conference were discussed the prospects of cooperation between Ukrainian port authorities and their European counterparts in the TRAINING4PORT project, the purpose of which is to improve the management, infrastructure and technical equipment of the Danube ports.
The short presentations to an audience made the representatives of the main partner of the project: Carmen Costacke – the Deputy General Manager of Maritime Danube Ports Administration (APDM) and Doina Munteanu – the Head of Galatia branch of the Maritime Training Centre (CERONAV); the representatives of the sub-project partners: Valery Ashdar from ACTIE, Valentine Stroya from ASDEI/ASREІ and Florence Budesku Natalia from the «Global Project».
The deep analysis of the labor market of three Danube countries ports is also scheduled within the frameworks of the project. The general model of the training may contribute the improving of the port services quality, availability of labor and labor mobility in the ports of the Danube macro-region.
