Volume of Suez Canal dredging works reach 73.6%

Vice admiral Mohab Mameesh, head of Suez Canal authority assured that dredgers working at the project of new Suez Canal, which are 39 in number have succeeded in lifting 189 million, 846 thousand cubic meter of sand saturated with water with a percentage of 73.6% of targeted 250million cubic meter. Eng. Wagdi Zaki, executive manager of the new Canal dredging works project, stated yesterday that 23 dredger affiliated to “Holland, Belgium, Emirates” league is working in the new canal navigational channel have succeeded in lifting 138 millionand 331 thousand cubic meter of sand saturated with water with a percentage of 70.2% and 11 dredgers are working at the western branch of the Canal in lakes region affiliated to” Belgium American” league have succeeded in lifting 41million, 716 thousand cubic meter with a percentage of 90% , besides 5 dredgers affiliated to Suez canal authority working at ElBallah branch where they have succeeded in lifting 9 million, 798 thousand cubic meter of saturated sand with a percentage of 65.3 %.
