Shipyard Lotus (Astrakhan region) launches tanker of Project RST25
Ceremonial launching and christening of RST25 Project tanker has been held today, July 24, 2015, at Astrakhan-based shipyard Lotus. The vessel was named after Sergei Terskov, former Director General of the shipyard, says press center of the United Shipbuilding Corporation.
Project RST25 tankers are intended for sea and mixed (river-sea) carrying of crude oil and petroleum products, including gasoline without restrictions for flash-point. Simultaneous transportation of 2 sorts of cargo is provided.
Lotus Shipyard OJSC specializes in construction of hulls for different vessels and in their complete fitting. Form 2012, the company is managed by United Shipbuilding Corporation OJSC. The company’s major shareholders are United Shipbuilding Corporation OJSC, Caspian Energy Group OJSC, Arkhangelsk Region Government.
United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC OJSC) is the largest shipbuilding company in Russia. It was set up in 2007 with 100% federal ownership. The holding comprises 60 companies and organizations (major shipbuilding and shiprepairing companies as well as leading design bureaus). Currently, USC consolidates about 80% of the domestic shipbuilding complex. The Russian market is the main focus of the state corporation though it also exports its products to 20 countries worldwide.
