RZD names Vladimir Pyastolov as new chief of North Caucasus Railway
First Deputy Head of North Caucasus Railway (SKZD) Vladimir Pyastolov, 49, was appointed the Head of North Caucasus Railway, a branch of state-owned rail monopoly Russian Railways, RZD said in a media release. The appointment was announced on January 22 by President of Russian Railways (RZD) Oleg Belozerov at a meeting with the staff of SKZD.
"The staff of North Caucasus Railway had tackled a lot of challenging tasks, including the preparation and hosting of the Olympic Games. The current objectives are no less ambitious, namely the development of access roads to the ports of the Southern Russia, the construction of a bypass of the Krasnodar hub,” RZD President said.
Vladimir Pyastolov replaces Vladimir Goloskokov who was promoted to the head of another branch of RZD Oktyabrskaya Railway.
The meeting was attended by Rostov Region Governor Vasily Golubev and Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of Russian President in the Southern Federal District Vladimir Gurba who emphasized the importance of North Caucasus Railway as one of the key segments of the economic development of the Southern Federal District, its important role in the implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects.
Vladimir Pyastolov was born in 1967 in Zlatoust, Chelyabinsk region. In 1992 he graduated from the Ural Electromechanical Institute of Railway Engineers majoring in Management of Rail Transportation and in 2009 the Ural Academy of State Service (State and Municipal Management). He started his carrier in 1984 as an operator of the traffic department of Zlatoust branch of South-Ural Railway. He worked as duty yardmaster, the railway station chief, deputy chief of transportation department and freight traffic services, chief engineer at South Urals Railway freight traffic department. Vladimir Pyastolov also led the technical policy at Kurgan branch of South-Urals Railway. Between 2008 and 2012 he was the first deputy head of the South Urals Railway. Since September 10, 2012 he worked as the first deputy head of North Caucasus Railway.
